Casino du Lac-Leamy
Sometimes you just can’t gamble on the reliability and performance of your mechanical system, and when the facility involved also happens to be the largest construction project built in the Providence of Quebec since 1989 – a toss of the dice just won’t do. That’s why the Casino du Lac-Leamy folded on all other bets and banked the comfort of their facility on Methot Controls and Unilux!
A monumental project located on the shores of Lac Leamy just minutes from Ottawa’s Parliament Buildings, represents a total investment of over $120 million. The structure, completed in just over 12 months, required over 60,000 man-hours – made up of the labor of over 2,500 devoted craftsmen representing 30 different trades. The 394 room Hilton Lac-Leamy Hotel and 2,469 seat casino are heated by the “four aces” on the job: (2) Model ZF-2750-W Hot Water Boilers and (2) Model ZF-500-HS High Pressure Steam Boilers.
This fabulous jackpot was no wild card. Michael McNamara and his team at Methot, Unilux’s exclusive representative in Eastern Canada, secured this project with tireless professional dedication and his belief that Unilux would provide the premier quality this outstanding project deserved. Michael’s salesmanship paid off big time when Bouthillette Parizeau & Associates, Inc. of Montreal, Quebec, the project’s engineer, specified Unilux. Contractor for the Unilux portion of the project was Cro-Mex, Inc. of Hull, Quebec.
Thanks to the remarkable efforts by all the different construction teams – including Unilux, Methot and Cro-Mex – the Casino du Lac-Leamy opened its doors to an enthusiastic public on time and within budget.
