Mandalay Bay
When Mandalay Bay decided to build the state-of-the-art 1.8 million gross square foot convention center that, when completed, would provide the resort with the largest convention and meeting facility on the Las Vegas strip, they chose Unilux.
It’s hard to find sure winners in Vegas. And once the operating engineering community of that town find a sure thing, they tend to stick with it. Unilux has been providing sure things in Vegas for a long time. “We’ve had zero failures,” said the local service rep when asked the secret to his success, “Virtually no maintenance … No repairs and 5% more efficiency. .. that’s the kind of thing that gets around in a small town like Vegas.”
Unilux can list almost every name hotel/resort and casino when asked about a job reference list. From the Aladdin to the Bellagio to the MGM Grand, Unilux has been successfully involved in providing the equipment. However, Mandalay Bay has proven to be a crowning achievement to date. After having provided (4) ZF2000 hot water boilers for the original hotel – a 3,300 room lush tropically themed facility in a full water environment including a sand and surf beach, a lazy river and variety of pools in a palm setting – Unilux is providing 6 more ZF2000 hot water boilers and 2 ZF250HS high pressure steam boilers for the Convention Center Expansion. The total? Over 205,000,000 BTU’s of comfort for the second largest Unilux installation in the world, topped only by the Pangody Central Heating Plant located in Siberia, Russia with an installation of a total of (6) ZW5000W boilers.
